Cameroon’s Exhibition Stands at the EXPO SHANGHAI 2010

EXPO SHANGHAI 2010 in China is magnetism the curious Chinese. Cameroon’s exhibition placed at the international exhibition.

Since the Cameroon exhibition begins in May 2010, it has been receiving about twenty thousand visitors a day, according to the Director of the Cameroon stand, Chi Zephyrinus Fru.

The first attraction to every passer-by is the gateway made up of two bamboo houses with sharp-pointing thatch roofs typical of the royal palaces in the Western grass fields of Cameroon.

On the left hand side is a musgum mud hut Common in the Northern regions. Then at the centre is a big baobab tree that provides shade to a rich gallery of paintings, sculptures and photos depicting the rich cultural and tourism potential of the country.

On Sunday the 3rd of October 2010 which was a special day set aside for Cameroon at the EXPO SHANGHAI 2010, a record crowd of Chinese spent much of the day struggling to gain access into the Cameroon stand.

The main attractions were the attendants dressed in embroidered grass field gowns and the photos of the INDOMITABLE LIONS with icons like Roger Milla and Samuel Eto’o.

Perhaps, even most attractive to the Chinese has been the thrilling performances of the Cameroon National Ballet and a select group of artistes.

During a special evening at the Intercontinental Hotel in down town Shanghai on October 3rd, Donny Elwood, Tata kingue, Anie Anzoe, Richard Kings, Kareyce Fotso and the National Ballet electrified a mixed audience of Cameroonians and Chinese with beautiful selections from their rich repertoire.

Trade Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, who was the special guest during the CAMEROON DAY, said the country expects to reap much benefit by attracting Chinese tourists and trading partners for Cameroon.

He said the Sino-Cameroon business forum scheduled for the 14th of October 2010 in Shanghai would see the signing of partnership deals between both sides.

At the end of October 2010, More than 200 countries from different parts of the world including Cameroon involving in The Shanghai international exhibition
