Exams written for the common entrance into secondary schools

Pupils all over the national territory have written the common entrance exams into secondary schools. Visiting some of the centres in Douala, there were a few hitches like pupils not having their names on the lists which came from the Ministry of Secondary Education for the francophone pupils and Basic Education for Anglophones. At the centre in Lycee Deido, the Vice principal, Ngomsi Isidore said there were 1213 pupils who were present but one person did not have his name on the list but they were able to improvise for him and one person too was absent. The pupils had six subjects, Comprehension, knowing French Calcul, problematic and General Knowledge, while the Anglophones have just Arithmetic and English.

At the centre in Lycee Bepanda, the principal Napi Richard said there were eight cases where pupils did not have their names on the list so they opened a litigation centre for them. But he added they had a total of 1330 candidates. In the government bilingual English Primary school, the chief of centre Anyi Sylvie said there were 840 candidates for the general education with seven absent while there were 37 for technical but two were absent. There were no hitches she said but for few late coming. She said the results will be out on June 2 for interviews. Meanwhile, the secondary education representative Kouei Jacques said they will do all to release results for the francophone section by May 26, and the percentage will depend on how many spaces are available into form one.
