World Day of Prayer

This Friday, people from 170 countries and regions around the globe will celebrated the World Day of Prayer, as will local church patrons.
In its 90th year, the World Day of Prayer was founded on the premise that prayer and action are inseparable in Christian service to God, and each year a different country serves as the writer for the World Day of Prayer worship service.
This year, Cameroon has written the service around the theme “Let everything that has breath praise God.”
Locally, different denominations participated in the World Day of Prayer, and service was held at a different location each year. This year the service was heldon Friday, March 5, at the Christ Episcopal Church, located at 35350 Division Rd., St. Helens. It begined at 11 a.m. A light lunch will be served following the services.
The church is handicap accessible and childcare will be provided.
World Day of Prayer services begin at sunrise in the Pacific and follow the sun’s trek across the globe on the day of celebration.
