Producer of Oscar front runner “The Hurt Locker” banned from the event!
One of the producers of the film “The Hurt Locker” was embarrassingly banned from attending the mega Oscar ceremonyscheduled on Sunday as he violated some of the group’s campaign rules. Mr. Chartier did the unthinkable when he e-mailed an academy member prompting him to vote for his low-budget Iraq war drama instead of the ultra-high budget film.
His low-budget Iraq war drama was the code word for “The Hurt Locker” and ultra-high budget film would most probably be Cameroon’s Avatar. Both the movies will surely prove to be a tough competition for each other on Sunday night.
Mr. Chartier ‘s attempt of throwing “a negative or derogatory light on a competing film or achievement,” got himself banned for Sunday night’s prestigious event. The front running movie’s fate is still looking good as many have cast their ballots prior to the controversy.
The dark shadow over the incident on the other hand can boost up votes for “Inglourious Basterds,” and “Avatar.” Let’s wait till Sunday night, as the mystery unfolds.
