Danish manager Olsen expects different Cameroon at World Cup
Danish manager Morten Olsen expects Cameroon to step up its performance at the World Cup finals after a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Denmark's future World Cup opponents reached a quarter-final spot at the Africa Cup of Nations, but failed to shine.
'Cameroon has many great individual players but I am sure they will play differently at the World Cup finals,' Olsen told news agency Ritzau Tuesday. At the Africa Cup of Nations it appeared that Cameroon and several other favourites, except Egypt, overestimated their skill and did not feel they had to rely on tactics, Olsen added.
'Most of Cameroon's players play with European clubs so they know that when the opponents come from other continents, especially Europe, they can expect a different situation,' the veteran manager said.
At present Olsen said his main focus is on Denmark. He expects to start analysing Cameroon more seriously in March or April.Olsen, 60, has coached Denmark since 2000. He recently extended his contract over the Euro 2012 finals to be hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
